Welcome to your billing and coding weekly solutions by H.J. Ross Company where getting your bills paid is what we do best!

Did you know that under the No Surprises Act you need to include a “good-faith estimate” for out-of-pocket or non-covered fees to your chiropractic patients?

The No Surprises Act was designed to prevent patients from any unexpectedly high medical bills.

This law does affect chiropractic practices which means patients should be made aware of their out-of-pocket costs before receiving care.

What does that mean?

All patients have the right to receive a good-faith estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services (($400 threshold).
A good-faith estimate should be received in writing at least 1 business day before the service or item.
If a bill is at least $400 more than your good-faith estimate, the patient can dispute the bill.
It is important to save a copy of your good-faith estimate.

Thankfully, H. J. Ross & Company has over 40 years of experience in dealing with a wide range of chiropractic billing issues.
