Please be advised the information received from ASH earlier this week relating to the transition was misquoted by ASH provider relations and that the transition to using ASH with Blue Shield of California is going forward for 2020. As more details emerge we will forward it to all our members. Be assured the details will be covered in our 2020 seminars and available to our network members.

Note you are not required to be a member of ASH to treat or be paid by BS but will be seen as out of network. This does not affect all BS of CA plans but does for the following plans;

• Individual and Family Plans (IFP): off-exchange ACA, on exchange and mirrored – Note this is for acupuncture benefits only as these plans do not include chiropractic benefits
• Small business group plans: on exchange and mirrored – Note this is for acupuncture benefits only as these plans do not include chiropractic benefits
• Small business group plans: off-exchange with acupuncture and/or chiropractic benefits
• Mid-large fully insured plans: with acupuncture and/or chiropractic benefits

Thanks for this update! Very helpful. What counts as a Mid-large fully insured plans? How will we be able to tell which plans this affects? What about self-insured plans? SISC, specifically.
